As we know from my previous blog posts, I love to travel. Getting to explore brand new places and experience new cultures make my mind and my heart swell with joy. Even though I am back in the United States, my travel bug is still alive as ever. There is so much of my own country that I haven't explored! So over the Labor Day weekend, I packed up and went to St. Louis. Here are some must do's for a weekend getaway this wonderful city!
1) Anheuser-Bush Brewery Tour
If St. Louis is known for one thing, it is where the King of Beers was founded. The Budweiser Brewery is an amazing experience not only for adults but for the whole family. Aside from the free samples of beer for the 21 and older crowd, the rich history of the brewery is fascinating! There is also an opportunity to see the famous Clydesdale Horses, the inside of the factory and have lunch in their wonderful Bier Garden restaurant.
2) Grants Farm
If it's family fun you are looking for, Grants Farm is the perfect place for a morning excursion. Own by President Ulysses S. Grant, this private farm is now turned into a zoo and sceptical for all ages. Guests can feed baby goats, see animal shows and see awesome animals while their parents can also enjoy free beer samples. Since the farm is also owned by Budweiser, the rest of the Clydesdales are raised here and guests can pet and take pictures with these famous horses. Tip for first time visitors: go in the morning. You not only beat the St. Louis humidity but it is less crowded!
3) Ball Park Village
After a long day out with the family, it is time for the parents to have a date night. Ball Park Village is right in the heart of St. Louis and across from the baseball stadium downtown. As a Kansacitian, I was excited to learn this downtown hub was built by the same architect who built Kansas City's Power and Light District. Great food, great drinks and a fun night out is what to expect from this place!!
St. Louis is a great place for a weekend getaway! So grab some friends, pack the car and get exploring!
