As promised a few weeks ago, I am going to start a series based on my favorite places I have gone in London. It has officially been 2 full weeks since I started my new life here and let me tell you, I have not stopped. Every day off, weekend and spare moment I have is spent exploring all the amazing areas of this city.
London has so many different areas for all kinds of people. During the first weekend here, the mates and I decided to spend our afternoon exploring an area called Camden Market. We had heard great things and with us being ~artsy~ fashionistas it seemed like the perfect Friday afternoon activity. Little did we know that this place was much more than cool vintage shops and street art.
After navagating the tube (finally), we arrived at Camden and couldn't believe the cool vibe it had. The amount of street shops, street art and street style inspiration was unreal! Every person we passed had this cool and carefree vibe about them. It was colorful and each building looked different from the other.
When we entered the actual "market", I found a booth full of a local artist's canvas paintings. They were so unique and I knew I needed to get my hands on one. I bought a canvas that had the sillouette of Big Ben. Just like my parents, I think I am going to start collecting a piece of art from every place I visit to remember it and this piece is the perfect starter.
Weaving in and out of shops looking at all of the vintage clothing, we realized just how luck we are to be able to study here. We have the chance to explore new areas of London every day and for that, I am so thankful. Camden should be a stop for anyone visiting London! From the cool coffee shops and pubs to the street market by the Camden Lock, it is so different from the central part and lets you take a break from the craziness of the city.
Stay cool Camden, I can't wait to go back and visit you again <3
