It has now been 3 months into my senior year and the October craziness has started to hit. Mid-terms, sickness, weather changes and school events are all surrounding my schedule at this moment. As I sit here in class (sorry Mom, senioritis has hit me hard!), my mind starts to wander back to my time aboard. Many of my other blog posts are about my time abroad but this one is especially relevant as the weather starts to grow cold.
Nice, France was one of the most beautiful places I have ever experienced. As you drive up to the coast of the French Riviera, the smell of sea salt, the sound of bike bells ringing and the warm sunshine fill your senses. I went to Nice back in March and little did I know it would become one of the best experiences of my life. Going from cold and rainy London to a warm, sunny and happy place lifted me out of that mid-year slump and made my longing for an American burger disappear.
My flat mates and I spent about 3 days in Nice but we wish it was longer than that. Our daily routine of eating fresh cheese and drinking tart wine became the norm. The shopping, coffee (or for me the tea!) and the views were like a dream. I miss the walks along the pebble beach and our find of a local carnival with a Farris wheel. This place was the definition of relaxing and we couldn't be happier.
After exploring the downtown, we took the 1 Euro bus 1 hour down the coast to Monaco. The rich and luxury we felt in Monaco made this place a life goal. It was just Leonardo Dicaprios world and we were living in it.
I could talk about Nice for hours but pictures help show what I mean. Please enjoy the beauty and add this place to your travel bucket list!
