Tea and Tell: Week 2

January 17, 2018

Hi Readers! Happy Tuesday! Anyone else feel the struggle of getting out of bed today? It’s below 0 here in KC and all I wanted to do was lay in bed all day under multiple blankets! Trying to stay productive in this new year is already proving to be a challenge so here are 5 things this week that I’m really loving to help me stay motivated and feeling my best! (Also, sipping on Ginger Peach Tea while I write this! YUM!)

1) Lip balm in my bag: Fresh Sugar Petal tinted lip treatment

When I am feeling tired and just don't want to do my hair or makeup (basically has been every morning this week), I love throwing this lip treatment on. This lip balm comes in 13 shades but the petal shade is hands down my favorite. It gives me just a hint of color without being a full lip stick. Perfect for any pick me up to my daily look!

2) App I'm obsessing over: Think Dirty

My friend Kelli first told me about this app last year but it wasn't until a bored afternoon that I decided to check out what it was all about. Think Dirty lets you scan your beauty products to see how "clean" or full of toxins they really are. They have a 0-10 scale and show you which ingredients are "dirty". Trust me once you dig in to what products you use, you will start to think about better alternatives! It is educational and may save your skin in the long run!

3) My Go-To Boots: LL Bean Boots

Like I said earlier, the weather in Kansas has been beyond cold! Snow, ice and below freezing temps for the past week have made it hard to leave my warm apartment. Luckily, I finally picked up a pair of bean boots and I AM SO IN LOVE. They are warm and the leather is insanely soft. The best part is LL Bean has a lifetime guarantee. Win win for everyone! I normally wear a size 7 1/2 but I bought these in a size 6 and they fit perfectly so size down!

4) What I am reading: leadership novels

As a women in the business world, I have found myself questioning and asking questions about how I should be pursuing my dream. These books along with a few others have been my saving grace any time I feel unsure about what I should be doing. I did a review on Lean In (check out that post here!) and found it is a must read for any business women. My Dad gave me Who Moved My Cheese? and it was eye opening and applicable to all job types. Pick up these and more for constant inspiration and motivation this year!

5) My new favorite cooking tool: Instant Pot

Guys, all the hype surrounding the Instant Pot is real. I got one for Christmas and I AM AMAZED! Meat loaf and mashed potatoes in 20 minutes? SIGN ME UP! This all in one pot is perfect for anyone who is a busy bee. The recipes are endless through cookbooks and Pintrest and will keep you satisfied all year long! Check out my Pintrest board for my favortie recipes! Can't wait to see what new meals I can try!

Happy Tuesday and hope these 5 things keep you motivated this January!

With Love,
