Tea and Tell: Week 4

February 8, 2018

Happy Thursday readers! WOW WHAT A WEEK IT HAS BEEN! I know I am late putting this post up... still trying to figure out this time management situation. Anyone else struggle with balancing work, social life and hobbies? I clearly need some guidance! This week I have been really loving all things new! From new music to new spring lines, here are my 5 new favorites!

1: New Album I Love: Man of the Woods by Justin Timberlake

Disclosure: I have been majorly in love with JT since I started listening to NSYNC back in the early 2000s but my love for him has only grown with the last few albums. Just when I thought his 20/20 experience album was going to be the best one yet, he hits us with this album. JT, as we all know, is from Memphis and this sound highlights his roots. Even though it is hard to pick a favorite song, if you have time to only listen to one I suggest Say Something featuring Chris Stapleton. Trust me, this collaboration will be your new favorite. Fun bonuses to check out? See JT Instagram of him doing a #TargetRun before the Super Bowl (swoon!) or his interview with Jimmy Fallon from last week.

P.S. His tour is about to kick off next month and he announced he is coming to KC in December! Early Christmas present to myself might be happening...

2) New Show I am Binge Watching: The Assassination of Gianni Versace

I have been a Ryan Murphy junkie since Glee (you all know I am a broadway/musical gal!) but he has really out done himself with the second season of American Crime story. Not only is this an important story to tell, the way its told is just incredible. For those of you who do not know, it follows the famous designer Gianni Versace and the events leading up to his murder by Andrew Cunanan. Do yourself a favor and not only watch this series but google Andrew Cunanan's story. You won't be able to sleep for days! Double bonus? The all-star cast including Ricky Martin, Penelope Cruz and Darren Chris. Catch this Wednesday at 9pm or watch on the FX app.

3) What to Follow This Week: New York Fashion Week

Biggest event in fashion this week is NYFW which begins today February 8th and ends the 16th. Everyone who is anyone will be attending from celebrities to influencers to major fashion houses. I have been following my favorite bloggers (i.e. Song of Style) as they have been prepping and traveling to attend. The list of shows can be found here. Big shows today? Tom Ford and Jermey Scott. What I am excited for? CHLOE, Tory Burch and Alexander Wang. Follow along on social media (thank god for Instagram Stories) or through the links live streams. So excited to see the new trends for Fall 18/19!

4) App Everyone Should Have: The Skimm

Trying to be an adult and read the news? Or just want to be more informed but don't like reading all the jargon that comes along with politics, sports or television? This app is for you. The Skimm has been one of my favorite apps for years and I still find myself loving the information it provides every morning. The Skimm breaks down the news in an easy to read and quick format. Plus, the app provides you with a calendar of things to watch, book recommendations and even news alerts! Download the app through any app store or sign up to have The Skimm delivered directly to your email. Cheers to being more informed in 2018!

5) Shoes I Can't Take Off: Allbirds

Yet another Christmas gift from my sister (shout out to Kaia for all the awesome gifts this year!), these are my new favorite sneaker. Allbirds are an all wool sneaker that are so comfortable I never want to take them off! They are easy to wash, keep your feet warm and dry and look stylish with any outfit. My day job in retail requires me to walk a lot and these are perfect for keeping my feet from getting exhausted! I have the khaki pair but I have my eyes on these perfect purple pair. Check out their website for more styles and their amazing story! https://www.allbirds.com/

Happy exploring all the new items this week! Next week I'll be sharing my favorite items for spring!

With Love,
