2019 Attitude: Gratitude

December 31, 2018

Happy New Year friends! As I reflect on 2018, I realized there was one thing in my last resolution that I failed to do and that was everything. In my last 2018 goals post (see: here), I promised to say “yes” and to dedicate more time to my blog, my friends and myself. And while 2018 Kristin was extremely ambitious, 2019 Kristin is trying something new. Every year, I try to make New Year’s Resolutions that I have every intention of keeping until life gets in the way. 2018 was a lot of change for both my professional and personal life. I quit my retail job to go into HR in a completely different field, I moved in with a roommate and lastly, I got engaged (see how I managed the change: here). There was so much going on that changed my life for the better that I barely had time to appreciate the time around me. 2019 will be even more change than I can imagine as I am getting married in November and welcoming a brand-new chapter into my life. I have some amazing trips planned, a few surprises in store and looking forward to everything ahead.

One of my favorite bloggers, Ashley Brooke (follow her if you don’t already!) took a Word of the Year quiz and shared it with her followers (check it out https://www.dayspring.com/yourwordquiz#/home ). I guide you through a series of 7 spiritual questions and at the end gives you a word you should track in your 2019 year. As I have started to reconnect with my faith, I decided to take it. My word for 2019 is gratitude.

Gratitude is what I will be working toward feeling every day in 2019. I am so beyond lucky with my friends, family, co-workers and personal passions that I don’t stop an appreciate what I have. I want to start everyday with something I am grateful for in hopes of starting off on the right foot. When I am frustrated, I want to be able to remind myself of why I started this challenge in the first place.

As for blogging, I found at the end of 2018 I broke one of my resolutions and started to compare myself more and more to other bloggers in the area. Lord knows I am not the most patient person in the world and seeing others get opportunities and grow sometimes can get to me. In 2019, I hope to change that. I reminded myself that I reached over 1,000 followers this year and started some collaborations with some of my favorite brands! I received an awesome content planner (here) for Christmas and have planned a little more to fuel my fire for why I started a blog in the first place. I didn’t start it to get famous. I didn’t start it to get free stuff. I started it because I like to share my thoughts and write. I do this to connect with other people about topics I love and hope to inspire others to share what they love!

So, with that in mind, here are some things I will be grateful to share in my blog in 2019!

  • My passion for all things movies, TV and podcasts. I have had a love of movies since I was little. I started the top 100 movies of all-time list when I was 15 and I’m almost done with the list! I am a pop culture fiend and I want to share my favorites with you all and start some awesome discussions. The Binge Queen is finally coming to the blog in 2019!

  • Wedding things! Since I’m sure my friends are tired about hearing wedding details it is time to take it to the internet! I’ll be sharing my progress, gift ideas, tips I have learned and more!

  • More personal posts: I want 2019 to be an open and honest year. I want to share more about what makes me and lessons I have learned so far! I want to answer all the questions you have!

  • More travel and food! I’m a huge foodie and you already know I love to travel and 2019 is going to be filled with both!! I cannot wait to share!!

Thank you all so much for your constant love and support. This community has given me so much joy and I hope I can continue to connect with you all! Please share with your pals, give me ideas, and let others in the community know how grateful you are!

With Love,

Kris
